Lead Poisoned Eagle Recovers

We are thrilled to share that this 22-year-old bald eagle was released back into the wild on Sunday after being treated for severe lead poisoning.

Michigan Department of Natural Resources Conservation Officer Tom Oberg was instrumental in the emergency transport of this eagle. The longer lead stays in the body, the more damage it causes and Officer Oberg’s quick actions made the difference between life and death for this eagle.
