Owl and Hawk Are Released

After several weeks in our care, we were able to release two raptors back into the wild this past week.

The first was a barred owl from Central Lake that had been hit by a passing vehicle. A small crowd gathered with us to watch his return to the wild.

The second was a Cooper's hawk from Traverse City that had flown into a window. As you can see from the photograph, the hawk wasted no time putting his speed on display.

It was rewarding to watch these two birds fly away, but we still have eight more patients receiving critical care. We are hopeful that they will also get a second chance at life in the wild, but they need your help to get that chance.

Will you help them? Your tax-deductible donation will help provide the remaining eight birds with food, medication, and physical therapy.
